Climate change is having an effect on biodiversity and tackling bio diversity goes hand in hand with tackling climate change. We of course recognise there are lots of other factors but nearly all of these also link up with these two major challenges of loss of bio diversity and climate change. Species extinction world wide are currently running at 1,000 times that of the natural background rate. In the uk the loss of biodiversity is affecting bees and butterflies but to name just a few under the threat of extinsion. Changes are already happening to our weather patterns and are set to continue with a prospect of drier summers and alarmingly variable amounts of rainfall. The full effects of climate change remain uncertain.
This what inspired us to help bees and butterflies etc. with the transformation of a derelict piece of land here in our urban community of Melksham turning it into a small wildlife sanctuary/garden. Please keep an eye on our web site to learn about future projects and how you can become involved in helping the uk wildlife adapt to the challenges it is now facing.
