Spring Fayre 5 May 2008

What was so lovely about the whole day was how all the members of the group pulled together. Some arrived early to erect the gazebo and Mike with his tent. Others participated by donating cakes or prizes. Everybody did something, it was a real team effort and it paid dividends. We now have enough money to buy the Freecycle banner for the Recycling centre at Bowerhill. We also now have funds in our account for the climate group which will go towards campaigns and projects in the future.

Freecycle also had a display board which Kathy had put laminated slides of the powerpoint presentation onto. We were unable to use the actual powerpoint presentation itself as we had no power at the fayre. It didn't matter, however, because the display was very clear and again attracted people to it to read the information given. Also, alongside the information was a Freecycle table with bits and pieces on that some members had brought along for people to take (and offer a donation if they wanted to

We learned a lot and we gained a lot. A very good day which was fun, interesting, and most of all worthwhile, doesn't get much better than that.

The competition winners were Kieron Lulos, Eloise Hatfield and Josie Rickets.
